High tea is one of the many indulgences us girls love to partake in. Enn and I are no strangers to the luxury of high teas and other than enn's mission to find the world's best macaroon, enn also has a quest to find her favourite luxury high tea as well. The Victoria Room in Sydney has always been famed for their luxury high teas and recently opened their newest addition to the high tea market, the Victoria Room Tea Salon located in the new Westfield Sydney Complex. At $38pp for a classic high tea, the Victoria Room Tea Salon is on par with most high tea prices in Australia. For this price we were given a three-tiered platter of savoury ribbon sandwiches, scones and sweet treats. The sandwiches we were provided with were filled with Chicken & wild herbs, smoked salmon, rocket, lemon & capers, cucumber, creme fraiche & dill and roast beef, horseradish cream & baby cress. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty and all the fillings perfectly complemented each other. For the scones, you can choose one each from the top ten scone list. I chose the white chocolate and cranberry scone and enn chose the original scone of which were served with jam and cream. The scones were our favourite part of the high tea. They were the perfect density, not too heavy but doughy enough to retain moisture, heated to a perfectly warm temperature and accented with juicy cranberries and large chunks of white chocolate. Even if you can't go for high tea, we recommend the tea salon for their scones alone. The last layer of our high tea featured petite four sweet treats featuring a pistachio lemon cheesecake, passionfruit pattie cake, strawberry tart and signature dark chocolate cup with chocolate mousse, cream and raspberries. We were extremely full by the time we got to the sweet treats and could barely finish half of them but we were lucky to grab a takeaway box to enjoy them later. Overall, we loved the modern bright pink and purple interior of the salon and the high tea goodies were all fresh and delicate. The Victoria Room Tea Salon is a yes for us!!
