Coffee & Chocolate

Coffee & Chocolate is a small, open booth-style cafe on the upper level of QueensPlaza in Brisbane. With floor to ceiling windows at the rear which overlook the Brisbane's bustling Queen St shopping strip, it is easy to while away the hours people-watching while gripping a coffee.

As an extra gift for QueensPlaza VIP shoppers, all those who spent over $100 on the night were treated to a free high tea! Being the adamant but bargain-hunting shoppers we are, we decided to try out this cute cafe which has won many awards. As part of the high tea we were offered a hot beverage. Enn's signature skinny cappucino was fine but not amazing and my English Breakfast tea was watery. Although cool, the unique tea infusing packet, which resembles a sugar packet, didn't diffuse enough tea into the hot water leading to a very weak cup of tea. The high tea featured four handmade chocolates and a two-tier stand featuring a bottom layer of scones and finger sandwiches, chicken, tuna and egg salad and a top layer of sweet treats such as a lemon tart, chocolate mud cake, raspberry square and a caramel and macadamia tart. We enjoyed the food which was simple but not mind-blowing and was more than we expected for a free high tea. Overall, there are better places in Brisbane for High Tea but for a quick lunch fix, the low prices and people-watching may entice you.
