Macaroons are what miracles are made of. Feather-light almond meringue-like biscuits encase a rich and smooth paste of varying flavour intensity. They come in all sizes and flavours and are simply, one of the most addictive delicacies in the world. 'Enn, in particular, loves them and is on a quest to find her favourites. To aid 'enn's macaroon mission we made our way to Via Del Corso Pasticceria e Caffe in the new food court at Westfield Sydney. I love the Westfield Foodcourt at Sydney for its upmarket, unique and new offerings which are not found at your typical food court. And Via Del Corso Pasticceria e Caffe does not dissapoint. The bright, circular haven in the middle of the food court offers numerous sweet delicacies from tarts to gelato to their famed macaroons. We were lucky enough to try the Peanut Butter and Green Tea macaroons ($3.50 each). They were both unique in flavour, indicating that each had been made with different flavouring ingredients, unlike many stores which merely use food dyes to colour the macaroons instead of flavour them differently. Our favourite was the Peanut Butter macaroon, which had a delicious peanut butter filling encased between two delicate pale blue meringues. We loved the macaroons and can't wait to go back to try more.
