JELLYFISH RESTAURANT

Perfectly cooked fish with a view.

Jellyfish Restaurant is located on the edge of the boardwalk at Riverside and features one of Brisbane's most picturesque views of the Brisbane Story Bridge. Jellyfish is the only Brisbane seafood restaurant to feature a menu with 14 locally sourced fish species every day. Plus, their love of fish can definitely be tasted in the cooking of their amazingly fresh fish. For the starter, the fresh loaf was crisp and perfectly warmed and the danish fetta and olive oil to dress the bread with added a flavourful touch. For the mains, the citrus crumbed Dory was cooked to perfection and considering the calibre of this restaurant, was generously portioned. In saying this, it was extremely rich and lacked acidity or a unique flavour which could justify its price. The sides of crispy potato cubes and brocollini stir-fried with almonds were bland and unimaginative. The meal was saved by the Crispy skin Kingfish with watermelon, mint, char grilled cashews and chilli jam main. This perfectly balanced and creative dish was fresh and flavourful and one of the best Seafood dishes we have tried in Brisbane. As a side note, the restaurant is extremely busy and filled with clients entertaining business partners which leads to a lack of service from the few waiting staff but these are minor details that can be overlooked in most cases.
